I was told by a person that I should soldered my engagement ring and wedding band together. I didn't really want to ask them what it meant. help, anyone.
soldering your engagement ring and wedding band together means fusing the two rings together with a small amount of metal (metal that matches your rings). the soldering is usually fused at the bottom of the ring where it's not noticeable and can be unsoldered if need to be.
most people usually solder their rings together to prevent the band from turning upside down and it keeps both rings lined up all the time.
when it comes to wanting your rings soldered it's personal preference. i personally don't have my rings soldered because i choose not to have it soldered. it doesn't bother me that my rings turn. to be honest every engagement ring or wedding band with stones will always turn because the stones add weight to the ring and we all know what gravity does with weight.

edit: a poster mentioned down there that soldering your engagement ring and wedding band together is permanent... no this is not true, it's not permanent at all, if you decide at a later time that you don't want your rings soldered anymore it can be unsoldered and this doesn't change the shape, form, or look of both rings in any way.
