feel a bit stupid for even asking this question but i need advice people.

back ground info: go to uni in scotland, live in ireland.

theres this guy from uni and he asked me at the start of the summer would i like to go out on a date with him, unfortunatly i had just arrived home that day, so i said id love to but it would have to wait. he agreed the timing was bad but hes liked me for ages so he'd wait till i got back. since this we've been speaking alot! got to no each other via text and phone calls and msn, which isnt ideal. thing is....and this may be stupid, but help me out here...when hes drunk, hes overly eager, he tells me how amazing i am, how im the perfect girl etc etc. but when sober, he shows interest but not half as much. infact, when he texts me and i reply, he doesnt often reply back...so im beginning to play games, not replyin to him even tho i want to. i hate playin games but i also dont want to play into his hands. any advice?
