Can you mix gold and silver?
Hi there, its my friends birthday soon and I was thinking what to buy her for a present, my other friend said that she bought her some silver charms and that I could pitch in and buy the silver bracelet for the charms. The thing is I know that my friend is a 'gold' person (like myself) and like me might choose not to wear silver. So we thought maybe we could get a gold charm bracelet and have silver and gold charms alternating around it for a two tone effect. However I know that normally white gold has to be used because silver is a harder metal than gold or something. Can anyone give some advice as to whether this is a doable idea or a silly one.... Yes i really want to forego the silver charm bracelet idea because everytime I am given silver for a present I never wear it and it seems a waste. Also silver tarnishes.... Dammit my friend is set on the idea of a joint present now and I dont want to ask her to return the charms i feel so rude!
